What's in a Name?

     So why is our clinic called New Haven Chiropractic Clinic....that sounds like the name of a church huh? 

Well if you're saying that you hit the nail on the head about what inspired our name.

     I was first asked this question by a group of people at our first Open House here in Greenwood, MS on December 9, 2011.  It was by our Ad Rep for the Greenwood Commonwealth.  "So why is your office named New Haven Chiropractic Clinic?"

My Response:

We are New Haven Chiropractic Clinic because
1) We are 'New' in the terms of what Chiropractic brings to the area.  I am originally from Greenwood, so I am not new but the clinic is.  Many people here, in my experience, have not heard of the wonders of Chiropractic and how it literally changes your health. I want to change that status.


2) A 'Haven' is a place of safety and shelter.  It's where one goes to get rejuvenated.  I actually found that it's a place where ships go to get recovered and cleaned before they go back out to sea.  I see people in my hometown the same way.  This is what we offer to this area- a safe and refreshing atmosphere for people to come and heal.  Life can be filled with many complications but each of us have purpose and need to be in health to fulfill that purpose.

3) 'Chiropractic' is what we do. I am not a massage therapist, a health coach, a physical therapist, or a personal trainer.  I am a Chiropractor.  I am trained and skilled to help people heal from the inside out by making sure the spine and joints are in alignment for proper NERVE/BRAIN function.  I work with the body to help people recover without the use of drugs and surgery.


4) Clinic is the type of business here.  Our office setup looks 'homey' but we are a clinic.



No one has ever called asking when does Sunday worship start. :-)

Welcome to The Office.

My name is Dr. Kimberly Jefferson, but you can call me Dr. Kim :-)  I am originally from Greenwood, MS and the Chiropractor at New Haven Chiropractic Clinic here in Greenwood, MS.

We have been helping many people since we opened in October of 2011. 

New Haven Chiropractic Clinic has been a blessing to me as well.  It all started back in college.  While just a college sophomore at Mississippi Valley State University, I began researching chiropractic and the benefits of chiropractic care.  Chiropractic was something different for me as I originally started seeking a career as a Pharmacist.  The healthcare field has always been a personal interest for me.  I enjoyed seeing what made people better and looked for ways to preserve and nurture health.  After enrolling at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic, I began to see the love that people had for chiropractic and I wanted to share all that I had learned and experienced by faith with my community in Greenwood and Leflore County.  So if you've been on the Facebook page lately- you will see LOVE FAITH and CHIROPRACTIC as our page banner. I will share more about that later as we go along on this blog journey.

So yes as the developer of Chiropractic B.J. Palmer said, "Small things become BIG THINGS." B.J. was also famous for the "BIG IDEA" of chiropractic which is simply that our bodies have an internal healing system that works best when the spine is in alignment and there is no nerve interference.  This message is so simple, yet many miss it.  Chiropractic works because of the simple fact that God designed the human body with an information system that works all day everyday to keep you alive.  Chiropractic is the ONLY profession that skillfully works to keep this system free of interference without drugs and surgery.

This has been an enjoyable first post for me and I will share with you on the next post why we are called NEW HAVEN CHIROPRACTIC CLINIC and what we do for our patients.
